7 Islands Memorabilia is the magnum opus of a father-son duo of sports aficionados. They are grateful to their family, friends and eminent sportsmen, whose generosity helped build this collection.
Dr Amit Rangnekar, an avid club level cricketer, played Kanga League for 26 years on the maidans of Mumbai. An MBA and PhD from NMIMS, he works in the pharmaceutical industry, and teaches marketing, branding and strategy at top B-Schools in India. He has been passionately collecting sports memorabilia since his school days.
Avighna Rangnekar, is a graduate in film making from Whistling Woods Institute, Mumbai. He works as an Assistant Director in the entertainment industry. Leveraging his creative acumen, he has successfully extended the family passion for cricket and football collectibles to all other sports as well as to action figures.
The name 7 Islands is derived from Mumbai, the city where both were born, bred and reside. Besides sports and sports memorabilia, the duo shares an equal passion for food and travel.
